Thande Hotel

One of the oldest resorts in Bagan, Thande was recently renovated. The resort is divided into two parts with the older more basic rooms situated at the back of the resort and the newer river side rooms situated on the bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River.

Location

In Old Bagan beside the Ayeyarwaddy River, in front of the archaeological museum. 10 minutes drive from the airport.

Rooms

The Standard and Superior rooms are not up to international tourist standards. We do not recommend using these. However, the 36 Deluxe duplex style river view rooms (38sqm) offer full amenities and are recommended. They are spacious, recently built and have wooden furniture and finishing as well as outstanding views over the river. Similar to the Deluxe rooms in decoration and amenities, the 3 spacious Suites (50sqm) come with an extra living room and lovely river views.

Facilities

Restaurant housed in an original 1922 pavilion, which was also used at the time of the Prince of Wales' (later Edward VIII) visit in the 1920s. Occasional entertainment is provided at the restaurant.
